Assembly of bacterial multi-protein complexes

Welcome to the Cascales’lab

The two main projects currently developed in our team are dedicated to understand at the molecular level how the different subunits of the Type VI and Type IX secretion systems assemble these complex machineries in the bacterial cell envelope. For this we are using a combination of genetic, biochemical, structural, biophysical and fluorescence microscopy approaches.
